There are plenty of great brands with excellent guitars but for the price of any of my guitars they don't have the same value. I've never had the desire purchase any other guitar brand. So for my birthday in 2013 I ordered a custom Frank Gambale model with Floyd Rose etc. The guitar plays and sounds as good as it did 38 years. Still have it never a problem in fact after 25 years I'd worn the frets so I had a new fret job. The first one was fretting out somewhat past the 12th fret so I sent it back and had them send me a new one because I loved the guitar otherwise.
So I saw one of their ads in Guitar magazine and took the plunge in 1978. The intonation was off and it never stayed in tune. So I ended up with a Strat that was made shortly after CBS had taken over and frankly the guitar was garbage. Back in the mid '70s I was supposed to buy a les paul from a member of my friend's band but he changed his mind after I had already sold my Gibson SG. The B-series features bass amp heads from the smaller 250-watt BX250 Micro, to the earthquake-inducing B2000, capable of 2,050 watts of power at 2 ohms. They also have some impressive combos amps, heads, and cabinet. On the bass side, Carvin produced some very cool bass guitars with bolt-on and neck-through designs. There’s the Vintage Series, the solid-state SX Series, and Carvin has even brought back the classic X100B. The Legacy is an amp built in collaboration with shred legend Steve Vai.

On December 28, 2009, it was announced that the founder of Carvin Guitars/ Kiesel Guitar, Lowell C. It was founded in 2015 and took over the guitar and bass portions of Carvin Corporation. Kiesel Guitars is an American manufacturer of custom electric guitars and electric bass guitars located in Southern California. On February 1st 2015, the name was changed back to Kiesel Guitars to honor our founder Lowell Kiesel.Īlso, when did Carvin stop making guitars? With the announcement that Carvin Audio and Amplifiers is ceasing operations effective Monday, October 9 2017, Kiesel Guitars wants to let our customers know that this in no way affects the continued operations at the Kiesel Guitars USA Custom Shop. In the 1960s Carvin built most guitars from mainly Hofner components, before returning to manufacturing their own instruments in the 1970s when Mark Kiesel took over the guitar department and developed the Custom Shop.
Simply so, why did Carvin Guitars change their name? Kiesel Guitars is retaining the current staff and Production will continue at current location. Kiesel Company, and was renamed “ Carvin” in 1949 when the company launched its innovative direct-sales business model, so returning to the “ Kiesel” name is an homage to the company founder, who passed away in 2009.
